A Dubai Desert Sunset Is Something You Need To Experience At Least Once

A personal Dubai desert safari experience with quad biking, dune bashing, sunset photos, camel riding, dinner, and a fire show. It was fun, beautiful, not too expensive, and one of those experiences that made Dubai feel different from the usual malls, buildings, and busy city life.

WHY I WANTED TO SEE THE DESERT IN DUBAI

When people think of Dubai, they usually think about tall buildings, malls, fancy hotels, expensive restaurants, and everything looking rich. And yes, Dubai definitely has that side, but I also wanted to experience the desert because that felt like something I should not miss.

I did not want to go to Dubai and only see the city part. I wanted to do something that felt different, and the desert safari was one of those experiences that actually felt worth it. It was not just one small activity. It was a whole afternoon and evening, and that made it feel more special.

The desert was also a nice break from the busy side of Dubai. Everything felt more open, and once the sun started going down, it looked beautiful in a way that felt calm. It was not like the city where everything is loud, shiny, and busy. It felt softer, and I liked that.

BOOKING A TOUR WAS THE BEST WAY TO DO IT

For something like this, I think booking a tour is the best option. I would not try to do it by myself, especially if it is your first time. The desert is not the place where I want to be confused about transport, timing, or where to go.

The tour made everything easier because they picked us up, took us to the desert, organized the activities, stopped for sunset pictures, and then took us to the camp for dinner and the show. You do not have to think too much, and I liked that. Sometimes when you are travelling, you do not want to plan every single small thing yourself. You just want someone to take you there, tell you where to go, and make the experience simple.

It also was not as expensive as I thought it would be. Dubai can feel like everything is going to cost too much, but this experience felt reasonable for everything that was included. Of course, you should still compare tours because some include more than others, and some activities might cost extra. But overall, booking a tour made the most sense.

FIRST WE DID QUAD BIKING

The first activity we did was quad biking. Those are the small bikes you drive in the desert, also called ATVs. This part was fun because you actually get to drive in the sand and feel like you are doing something, not just standing around taking pictures.

It made the desert experience feel more exciting at the beginning. You are in the middle of the sand, driving around, trying to control the bike, and just enjoying the fact that you are actually in the Dubai desert. It is one of those things that sounds simple, but when you are there, it feels fun because it is different from what you normally do.

I would say check if quad biking is included in your tour before booking. Some tours include it, and some tours make you pay extra. Also, wear clothes you do not mind getting sandy because you are literally in the desert. Trying to stay perfectly clean is not realistic.

THEN WE DID DUNE BASHING

After quad biking, we did dune bashing. That is when the driver takes you in a 4x4 car and drives over the sand dunes. You go up, down, over bumps, around the dunes, and the car moves a lot.

It was fun, but it is not calm. If you get motion sickness easily, you need to know that before going. The car is moving up and down, and you are not just sitting there peacefully. It is part of the adventure, but your body will definitely feel it.

This is another reason why I think going with a tour is better. The drivers know what they are doing, and they know where to go. I would not want to figure that out by myself in the desert. It felt much easier to just be part of the tour and let someone experienced handle that part.

THE SUNSET WAS THE BEST PART

The timing matters so much. I think going later in the day is the best because you get to catch the sunset. When we got there, the sun was already close to setting, and honestly, that was the most beautiful part of the whole experience.

The desert already looks nice, but when the sun starts going down, everything looks different. The sand looks warmer, the sky looks softer, and the whole place just feels calmer. It was such a nice moment, and I think that is what made the experience feel special for me.

I feel like pictures look good, but they still do not fully show how it feels to actually be there. The sunset in the desert is one of those things that is better in real life. You can take pictures, and you should, but you also need to stop for a moment and actually look at it.

TAKING PICTURES IN THE DESERT

After the dune bashing, the car stopped so we could take pictures by the sunset. This was one of my favorite parts because the background was already beautiful. The sand, the sky, the light, everything looked good together.

It is the kind of place where you do not need to do too much for the photos to look nice. The desert does most of the work for you. You just stand there, and the background already looks good.

But I also think you should take a moment to enjoy it without only focusing on pictures. It is easy to spend the whole time trying to get the perfect photo, especially when the sunset is happening and you feel like you need to capture everything. But the actual experience is worth paying attention to as well.

THE CAMEL RIDE WAS NICE, BUT SHORT

After taking pictures, we went to ride camels. It was nice, but it was quite short. I think ours was around 30 minutes, but it felt more like part of the full experience than the main activity.

If camel riding is something you really want to do for a long time, then you should check the tour details before booking. Some tours only include a short ride, and some might have longer options. So do not just assume it will be a long camel ride unless the tour says that clearly.

For me, it was enough because we had already done other things. It was nice to experience, take photos, and add it to the day, but the sunset was still the highlight for me.

DINNER AND THE FIRE SHOW

After the camel ride, we went to the camp for dinner and the show. This part felt more relaxed because we had already done the driving, the sand, the sunset, and the camel ride. By that point, it was nice to sit down and just enjoy the evening.

The dinner was part of the tour, and then there were performances. There was a fire show, and I think this made the night feel more complete. It gave the whole experience a proper ending instead of just going to the desert, taking pictures, and leaving.

I liked that the tour had different parts. First, it was active with the quad biking and dune bashing. Then it became beautiful and calm with the sunset. After that, it became more relaxed with the camel ride, dinner, and show. That made it feel like a full experience and not just one quick activity.

WAS IT WORTH IT?

For me, yes, it was worth it. I liked that it included different things in one tour. Quad biking, dune bashing, sunset pictures, camel riding, dinner, and a show. It felt like a full afternoon and evening, and I liked that I did not have to organize everything myself.

It also was not as expensive as I expected, which made it better. Dubai can be expensive, so when something feels worth the money, I appreciate that. I do not want to spend money on something and feel like it was just for pictures. This felt like I actually did something.

I would just say read the tour details properly before booking. Some tours include more, some include less, and some activities might cost extra. Do not only look at the price. Check what you are actually getting so you do not arrive and feel disappointed.

WHAT I WOULD TELL SOMEONE BEFORE GOING

I would say book an evening desert safari if you want the sunset. Do not go too early if your main goal is to see the sunset because the timing is what makes it beautiful. Going later in the day gives you the activities, the sunset, and then the dinner and show after.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you do not mind getting sandy. Bring sunglasses, charge your phone, and check if quad biking is included in the tour or if you need to pay extra. Also, if you get motion sickness, keep that in mind for the dune bashing because it is not a smooth drive.

I really think booking a tour is better than trying to do it yourself. It is easier, safer, and less stressful. You just go, enjoy the activities, take your pictures, eat, watch the show, and then go back.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Dubai desert sunset was honestly such a nice experience. I liked that the day had different parts, so it did not feel boring. First we did quad biking, then dune bashing, then sunset photos, then camels, then dinner and the fire show.

But the sunset was still the best part for me. There is something about being in the desert when the sun is going down that feels different from the busy city side of Dubai. It feels calmer and more open, and I think that is why I liked it so much.

I would definitely recommend doing a desert safari if it is your first time in Dubai. Book a tour, go later in the day, catch the sunset, and check what is included before you pay. It is one of those experiences that feels very Dubai, but also different from the malls, buildings, and busy city life.
